SANTA FE, NM, October 19, 2005 – Reflective Images presents their latest, one of a kind jewelry designs by lead designer, Helen Chantler, in an opening at their new Baca Street gallery. The opening and artist reception will be held Friday, December 2rd, 2005, from 5 to 8pm, coinciding with the Baca Street Art Walk. Refreshments will be served. There will be live folk and acoustic music by Richard Hardy.
Helen Chantler grew up in England and Far East before learning to make jewelry in Santa Fe. Her work has been internationally recognized as one of the most innovative, contemporary Celtic inspired jewelry designers in the world. Working with 18K gold and sterling, Ms. Chantler draws inspiration from museums, archeological sites, and pilgrimage sites she's visited on her travels. Recently, Ms. Chantler was selected as a judge for the Saul Bell Jewelry Design Competition, one of the most important designer jewelry competition venues in the country.
In addition December 2nd will be the first opening reception in Reflective Images' new gallery. The gallery features tin ceilings, clay finished walls, carved teakwood cases, and historical classic stone columns carved by Italian masons. The columns were once part of the New Mexico state capitol building that burned down in the late 1800s. The gallery will be open on Saturday and Sunday, 10 to 4, though December until Christmas.
