Blue Zircon

blue zircon

Zircon is a natural gemstone often confused with zirconia, a lab grown imitation diamond. True Zircon in ancient times was believed to bring wisdom, integrity and honor to those who worked with its energy. The word, Zircon, probably comes from the Persian word, zargun, which means "golden colored," as Zircon comes in many hues, including clear where it's considered a substitute for diamonds.

Today, blue Zircon is particularly popular since it is considered one of December's birthstones. It is mined widely in Southeast Asia, Sri Lanka and other countries. It is heavier than most gemstones, which means you get less for the weight.
